Joint CSIR – UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship & Lectureship

National Eligibility Test (NET), December 2012

CSIR has been conducting Joint CSIR-UGC National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Lectureship in five subjects of science twice a year in the month of June and December.

CSIR released the notification for National Eligibility Test (NET), December 2012. CSIR will hold the Joint CSIR-UGC Test on 23^rd December, 2012 for determining the eligibility of the Indian National candidates for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) NET and for determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET) in certain subject areas falling under the faculty of Science & Technology.

The Test will be held in the subjects as given under:

1. Chemical Sciences

2. Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences

3. Life Sciences

4. Mathematical Sciences

5. Physical Sciences

6. Engineering Sciences

Date of CSIR NET Single MCQ Examination: 23.12.2012

Application Fee: General – Rs.400/- , for OBC – Rs.200/- & for SC/ST/PH/VH – Rs.100/-

Joint CSIR – UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship & Lectureship

National Eligibility Test (NET), December 2012

In order to encourage engineering graduates to pursue PhD, CSIR-NET is being extended to engineering students by introducing a sixth paper in engineering sciences which will be common to all areas of engineering disciplines from December, 2012. The eligibility criteria (educational qualification) for writing the test will be BE, B.Tech or equivalent in engineering with at least 55% marks for general/OBC and 50% marks for SC/ST, Physically and visually handicapped candidates. Students in the 4th year of the programme will also be eligible to apply. The syllabus and sample paper will be uploaded in the web by August, 2012″.

If sufficient number of candidates do not opt for any of the above Centres, that particular Centre may stand deleted from the above list OR otherwise also, the concerned candidates may be allotted another Centre nearest to their place of residence, at the discretion of CSIR.
