CSIR UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) Exam for Award of Junior Research Fellowship &Lectureship
CSIR UGC NET June 2014 Exam for science stream is scheduled to be held on 22nd June 2014 (Sunday) in the following areas: Mathematical Sciences/ Maths, Chemical Sciences/ Chemistry, Physical Sciences/ Physics, Earth Sciences & Life Sciences/Engineering Sciences.
CSIR UGC NET June 2014 Exam Pattern for Single Paper
CSIR UGC NET consists of Single Paper Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based test. The pattern for the Single Paper MCQ test shall be as given below:
The MCQ test Paper of each subject shall carry a maximum of 200 marks. The exam shall be for the duration of three hours. The question paper comprises of three Parts.
Part ‘A’ shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing a maximum of 20 questions from General Aptitude (Logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, quantitative comparisons, series formation, puzzles, etc). The candidates shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200
Part ‘B’: This part shall contain 50 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) generally covering the Subject – Related topics given in the syllabus. A candidate shall be required to answer any 35 questions. Each question shall be of two marks. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 70 out of 200.
Part ‘C’: This part shall contain 75 questions that are designed to test a candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. A candidate shall be required to answer any 25 questions. Each question shall be of four marks. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 100 out of 200.
Negative Marking in CSIR NET: There will be negative marking @25% for each wrong answer.
