Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET – Feb/ September 2016)

All questions in CTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). There will be no negative marking.

There will be two papers of CTET.

(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.

(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

CTET 2016 Paper 1 Syllabus &  Exam Pattern

CTET Feb/ September 2016 Paper I Pattern (for classes I to V) – 150 MCQs (150 Marks)

Duration of examination – 2:30 hours

Structure and Content (All Compulsory):

(i) Child Development and Pedagogy – 30 MCQs (30 Marks)

  1. Child Development (Primary School Child) – 15 Questions
  2. Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs- 5 Questions
  3. Learning and Pedagogy- 10 Questions

(ii) Language I – 30 MCQs (30 Marks)

  1. Language Comprehension- 15 Questions
  2. Pedagogy of Language Development- 15 Questions

(iii) Language II – 30 MCQs (30 Marks)

  1. Comprehension- 15 Questions
  2. Pedagogy of Language Development- 15 Questions

(iv) Mathematics- 30 MCQs (30 Marks)

  1. Content- 15 Questions
  2. Pedagogical issues- 15 Questions

(v) Environmental Studies – 30 MCQs (30 Marks)

  1. Content- 15 Questions
  2. Pedagogical issues- 15 Questions

CTET 2016 Paper 2 Syllabus &  Exam Pattern

CTET September 2016 Paper II Pattern (for classes VI to VIII) – 150 MCQs (150 Marks)

Duration of examination – 2:30 hours

Structure and Content:

(i) Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory) – 30 MCQs (30 Marks)

  1. Child Development (Elementary School Child) – 15 Questions
  2. Concept of Inclusive education and understanding children with special needs- 5 Questions
  3. Learning and Pedagogy- 10 Questions

(ii) Language I (compulsory) – 30 MCQs (30 Marks)

  1. Language Comprehension- 15 Questions
  2. Pedagogy of Language Development- 15 Questions

(iii) Language II (compulsory) – 30 MCQs (30 Marks)

  1. Comprehension- 15 Questions
  2. Pedagogy of Language Development- 15 Questions

(iv) For Mathematics and Science teacher – 60 MCQs (60 Marks)

  1. Mathematics Content- 20 Questions
  2. Pedagogical issues- 10 Questions
  3. Science Content- 20 Questions
  4. Pedagogical issues- 10 Questions

For Social studies/Social Science Teacher – 60 MCQs (60 Marks)

  1. Content- 40 Questions
  2. Pedagogical issues- 20 Questions

(c) For any other teacher – either (a) or (b)

Note: The question paper shall be either in English or in Hindi.
