Direct Recruitment of Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants / Postal Assistants (SBCO)

Applications are invited form the eligible persons for filling the vacancies of Postal Assistants/Sorting Assistants/Postal Assistants (Savings Bank Control Organization)/Postal Assistants (Foreign Post Organization)/Postal Assistants (Returned Letter Offices)/Postal Assistants (Mail Motor Services) And Postal Assistants (Circle And Regional Offices) for the year 2013- 2014 in 22 Postal Circles in the Country

Qualification: i). 10+2 standard or 12th class pass from a recognised university or Board of Secondary Education with English as a compulsory subject (excluding vocational streams). ii). the applicants should have studied in local language of the State or Union Territory of the concerned Postal Circle or in Hindi as a subject at least in matriculation level or equivalent.

India Post Selection Process: The final merit shall be prepared on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by the Applicants in the Aptitude Test (Paper I) only subject to their qualifying in Computer/Typing test (Paper 2).

Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant syllabus& Exam Patten 2014

India Post Exam Pattern: The Applicants shall be subjected to an Aptitude Test with a total 100 marks covering the following subjects/topics. Aptitude Test (Paper I) will be comprising following four parts (A/B/C/D). The total duration of the Aptitude Test will be 2 hrs (120 Minutes). There is no negative marking. The Syllabus for India Post Aptitude Test (Paper 1) is given below.

Paper I – Aptitude Test Syllabus:

Part ‘A’25 Questions on General Knowledge – Questions on current events, sports, history, geography, basic economics, general polity, Indian Constitution, science environment etc. –  25 Marks
Part ‘B’25 Questions on Mathematics of matriculation standard which may cover number system, simplification, decimals, corrections, simple and compound interest, per  centage, average, profit & loss, discount, menstruation, time & work and time & distance etc. – 25 Marks
Part “C”25 Questions on English covering grammar (prepositions, adverbs, conjunction,direct/ indirect speech, singular & plural, tenses, antonyms/synonyms etc – 25 Marks
P art “D “25 Questions on Reasoning and analytical Ability – 25 Marks

India Post Qualifying Marks: The minimum qualifying marks/ Cut off Marks to be obtained in each part of India Post Aptitude Test is:

For OC Candidates – 40% Marks (i.e., 10 marks in each part)

For SC/ST Candidates – 33% Marks (i.e., 8 marks in each part)

For OBC Candidates – 38% Marks (i.e., 9 marks in each part)

Paper-II – Computer/ Typing Test: The Typing Test shall be for a duration of 30 minutes (15 minutes each for Typewriting and data entry) consisting of one passage of 450 words in English or 375 words in Hindi to be typed with a minimum speed of 30/25 words per minute respectively & Data entry of some figures and letters each carrying equal marks on Computers. The typing test and test of data entry operations will be conducted on Computer key board but not on type writer.

    Sir/Mam,
    Can u kindly tell me when will typing test will held on Assam region. I’d appear the test on 5 may 2013- 2nd part..
    As u said that aftr 30 mins typing test will held but they didn’t ask to give any test.. Can u plz tel me when we have to give the 2nd test..

      hi priyanka.did you appear in that typing test?how is the test?is that difficult?what was given in that test.please share your experience.i have qualified in the written test and have called for typing test in west bengal region.please reply.i am quite confused about this test.
