IRCTC Tatkal Reservation ticket booking Timing Changed
Tatkal ticket booking will start at 10:00 hrs instead of 08:00 hrs w.e.f.10.07.2012. I really pity those people who didn’t know this timing, went to the Rail way station reservation Counters for booking.so many people may get trouble today.
I have my personal experience to share with my site viewers.
Today I have tatkal reservation to take for my friends. I logged in to IRCTC website: https://www.irctc.co.in/ with IRCTC user id & password. Then i entered my source, destination, date of journey, scheme of reservation as tatkal. I clicked on find trains. Then I was redirected to Train list. I choose the sleeper class, then i got the book option with no. of seats available.
When i click on book, i was shocked. I got a pop up message informing that “internet incoming day booking not allowed before 8 am. Tatkal ARP (Advance Reservation Period) is not allowed before 10 AM”. At that time i don’t know that the tatkal booking timing has changed .i thought that there is a problem with my connection. I started checking my internet connection, deleting cookies, browsing history. Still i got the same response. I was really worried about their journey & tatkal reservation .i didn’t get any idea to check the irctc alerts& updates. After that i made a call to my friend and asked him for reservation. He got the same response.
Then i conclude myself “There is no problem with the connection”. I checked the seat availability through http://indiarailinfo.com/ , (where you can get updated list of seat availability, fare, schedule etc…), I was happy to see that there are full no of seats showing. Then I am trying to login to irctc again. By chance i saw the update on irctc page informing that “general booking not allowed before 8 am and Tatkal booking allowed after 10 am with effect from 10.07.2012″. I was relaxed by seeing that message.
But, this change of timing may not be comfortable for Job holders.
