UPSC – DCIO/ Technical in Intelligence Bureau Examination

Exam Date & Day: 6th January 2013 (Sunday)

Exam time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon

Subject: General Aptitude Test

UPSC DCIO Deputy Central Intelligence Officer/ Technical in IB Exam Pattern:

(a) The test will be of two hours duration and will carry a maximum of 100 marks.

(b) The test will be objective type questions with multiple choice answers.

(c) The medium of the Test will be English only.

(d) There will be penalty for wrong answers.  Every wrong answer will carry a deduction of one-third of the marks assigned to that question.  If no answer is marked for a question, there will be no penalty for that question.

UPSC DCIO / Technical in IB Exam Syllabus: Syllabus of the test comprises the following broad areas

(i) Scientific temper relating to basic understanding of Science including everyday observation & experience.

(ii) Instrumentation

(iii) Fundamentals of Basic Electronics

(iv) Fundamentals of Computerization and Network

(v) Aptitude Data and Image Interpretation

(vi) Communication Skills

(vii) Basic Questions on Maintenance

(viii) Current events regarding Science and Technology

(ix) Fundamentals of Information Security
